Mosaic Metro Private Line Services
Mosaic offers a broad range of options and configurations for Private Line Services, from T1 to OC192 and Wave services across the country and around the world.
Metro Private Line Service
Mosaic Metro Private Line Service gives businesses the ability to transmit data applications between two or more locations within the same metropolitan area. The solution provides a dedicated, point-to-point, or point-to-multipoint service that is capable of supporting voice and data communications.
Mosaic also offers Metro Private Line SONET Service providing a dedicated, optical communications service with a SONET handoff at speeds of OC-3, OC-12, OC-48 and OC-192. Concatenated (Full Bandwidth) Services and Channeled Services are available.
Mosaic Metro Private Line delivers route diversity and redundancy, security, flexibility and reliability. The service enables a variety of applications, such as:
•LAN-to-LAN connectivity
Connect local area networks for file transfer and interoffice e-mail
•Host data transmission/retrieval
High-performance, secure dedicated lines between the host and secondary locations for data communications that handle the heavy traffic of collaborative computing
•Access to an Internet service provider or vendor
Dedicated lines between the host and secondary locations for connectivity to an Internet service provider or vendor
Metro Private Line Advantages
Metro Private Line enables companies to reduce the possibility of unauthorized access to the network, allocate bandwidth as needed and leverage digital technology to ensure transmissions are virtually error-free. Other advantages include:
•Service Flexibility. Enables the combination or segregation of voice, data, and video applications. By leveraging the legacy network in combination with a state-of-the-art fiber-optic network in the core, customers can rest assured that data is transmitted quickly and reliably. Mosaic’s operations center monitors the network 24x7 to resolve network-related issues as they occur.
•Secure Local Network Route Diversity. Upon request, Mosaic can provide distinct, diverse paths to your locations for increased redundancy, security, and reliability.
•Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Mosaic provides a comprehensive package of SLAs across its data and Internet portfolio. Under the terms of these SLAs, Mosaic commits to aggressive financial incentives if our services don’t perform as stated.
•24x7 Customer Service Support. Mosaic provides excellent customer service—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
•Competitive Rates. Metro Private Line rates are extremely competitive with the rates charged by other providers.
•Single-Source Solution. Mosaic provides all of its services with one contract, one contact, and one bill.
•Nationwide Availability. Metro Private Line is available across the nation.

Mosaic Dedicated SONET Ring (DSR)
Mosaic Dedicated SONET Ring provides the foundation for building a communications infrastructure that is functional, flexible, and reliable from the ground up. The highly reliable, self-healing optical networking solution is secure enough to transport mission-critical voice, data, and video applications, and powerful enough to handle enhanced Ethernet solutions for high-bandwidth LAN/WAN and SAN connectivity.
One of the greatest benefits of SONET-based transport technology is that it enables the interconnection of multiple locations utilizing a single dedicated, customizable private network.
Mosaic DSR offers:
A Resilient, Dedicated Ring Architecture
Mosaic DSR is designed with redundancy to prevent loss of services. The dual-fiber, dedicated ring architecture has no single point of failure. For additional peace of mind, Mosaic provides 24x7 monitoring and support, and our network is backed by competitive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with service credits for affected network components.
Flexibility
DSR facilitates network convergence with the ability to bundle a variety of interfaces on one fiber backbone (IP and TDM). Our DSR service carries traditional voice, data, and video applications, plus enhanced next-generation SONET interfaces such as Ethernet, Direct DS-1 access, and Trans-Multiplexing. Ethernet transport makes LAN-to-MAN-to-WAN connectivity seamless, and native Ethernet circuits terminate directly on the Ethernet port.
Mosaic DSR supports technologies, including include TDM, OC-N, Ethernet, FICON, and Fibre Channel.
A Scalable and Cost-Effective Solution
Mosaic DSR can meet current and future bandwidth requirements with no forklift upgrades. We also offer flexible bandwidth and pricing options with term discount plans.
•DSR is available at OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, and OC-192 bandwidths.
•Available TDM interfaces include DS-1/DS-3, OC-3/3c, OC-12/12c, and OC-48/48c.
•DSR for GigE interfaces available include GigE1 (50 Mbps), GigE3 (150 Mbps), GigE6 (300 Mbps), GigE9 (450 Mbps), GigE12 (600 Mbps), and GigE24 (1000 Mbps), Fiber Channel (1 Gbps) and FICON (1 Gbps).
Take Advantage of Mosaic DSR
•Lower costs by consolidating your voice, video, and data networks
•Move low-speed services to a consolidated, high-performance network
•Support new, bandwidth intensive business applications requiring highly available services
•Support multi-protocols with various bandwidth requirements
•Connect geographically dispersed locations, further leveraging your existing network investment
•Deploy advanced applications that allow for more efficient network utilization and build a foundation for IP network migration
Mosaic Wave Service
Mosaic Dedicated Wavelength
Dedicated Wavelength Service is a resilient optical transport service based on Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology to meet requirements for increased network capacity in key locations that support Internet, video and multimedia streaming applications. Available without having to deploy additional fiber, this service is an easy-to-implement, fully managed and economical solution for your point-to-point connectivity needs.
With Mosaic Wave Services you can:
•Save on capital and overhead expenses, and deploy your solution quickly since no local loop is required. With no costly capital outlays for the service, you can implement the converged network you need while still controlling costs.
•Easily transmit large amounts of data for a significantly lower cost per megabyte.
•Build highly scalable, high-capacity Metro and/or Intercity solutions to meet your unique business needs. Designed on survivable network architecture, the network allows customers to add and drop various services or channels to their location
•Support a broad range of data transport applications, such as mirroring mainframe data, connecting LANs and MANs, building a video network or extending your Storage Area Network.
